I am traveling from new orleans to memphis. It is cheaper to fly to columbus($159), with a stop in memphis?
than it is to fly just to memphis($359). I don't understand this craziness. Would it be legal or ok for me to fly to memphis buying a columbus ticket? I would just not use the connecting flight to columbus, OH. I just don't know what would happen on my flight back to new orleans...I would be leaving from memphis instead of columbus....Any one have experience with this? or is it worth the trouble? Should I pay $200 more ? Air Travel - 1 Answers

It is cheaper because there is probably more competition with fares on the route to Columbus while there is less competition on the flight to Memphis (thus the higher fare). If you don't show up for one leg fo your journey the other legs will be canceled so I would definitely warn against it.
